SHES welcomes Mrs. Karen Baker as Assistant Principal this year. Mrs. Baker has been an educator since 1989 and has worked in Worcester County since 1996. She has served in many roles over her career. She has been a classroom teacher, a reading specialist, a school testing coordinator, and a district assessment coordinator. Mrs. Baker received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Salisbury University and is thrilled to be back in a school and working with elementary school children again.
Mrs. LaVerne Waters-Cray is Snow Hill Elementary’s Guidance Counselor. She came to SHES in 2006 after teaching and working at Pocomoke Elementary School for 10 years. Mrs. Waters-Cray attended Snow Hill Schools and then went on to Salisbury University, earning a degree in Elementary Education, and Wilmington University where she received her Master’s degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Cray's two children are students at Snow Hill Schools.
Dr. Mary Anne Cooper has been in the education field since 1991 when she began her career in Baltimore City Public Schools. In 1997, she and her family moved to Worcester County where she taught 7th grade at Snow Hill Middle School. While at Snow Hill Middle, she was a Resource teacher, Curriculum Planner, and Assistant Principal. In July 2013, Dr. Cooper began her tenure as Principal at Snow Hill Elementary School. Dr. Cooper received her Bachelor's degree from the College of Notre Dame and her Master's degree from Salisbury University. She graduated with her Doctorate in Education from Wilmington University in 2011.
