  • PK4 students may check out one item at a time and keep it in the classroom.
  • Lending periods are for 1 week.

In our school library you are free to:
  • Visit often
  • Read comfortably
  • Access all materials
  • Ask questions
  • Change your mind about a book
  • Choose books that interest you
  • React to what you read
  • Make recommendations
  • Share your opinions
  • Find joy in reading!

What happens if I lose or damage a library book?
Sometimes, accidents happen. The best thing to do is communicate with me. I will mark the item as damaged or lost and assess a fine. Unfortunately, I cannot accept replacement books. Library books cost more than trade hardcover and paperback books because they use a special binding to ensure they last longer.
IV.B.7.a Lost Items and Replacements
Students shall be held responsible for lost items and shall make reimbursement for such items by paying the full original purchase price. Materials which are damaged beyond use should be charged to the student according to the above schedule of fees

Meet Mrs. Axel

My name is Meaghan Axel and being a school librarian is my dream job! I was a secondary English teacher for 15 years before starting my career as a school librarian in 2019. I love children's literature, nature, yoga, and time with family. I grew up in Connecticut and moved to the beautiful Eastern Shore in 2014. I have a BA in English, an MS in Education, and an MS in School Librarianship from McDaniel College. I love sharing my favorite books with you!
