Schools for Title 1 funding are located in high poverty areas. Title 1 funding is made available to a school when at least 35% of the total population receives Free and Reduced Meals Services.
These federal dollars come in the form of supplemental materials of instruction, salaries for specific positions, and parental involvement monies.
This money is to be used to provide additional materials for the school that is not provided by the district or county.
Snow Hill Elementary School is a school wide Title 1 school. This funding provides for many extra activities in the areas of Materials of Instruction and Parent Involvement. At Snow Hill, we offer funds to purchase classroom supplies to enhance learning for all children. In addition, we offer many opportunities for parents to engage in activities that promote student learning.
We also have a Title 1 Parent Advisory Team that meets to plan activities throughout the year such as the Back to School Bash, Math Week, Poetry Week, and Family Nights. Information on these activities, as well as all Title 1 information for Snow Hill Elementary School can be found in the links provided below.
As a Title I school, parents have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child's teacher, and of paraprofessionals who provide instructional services to their children.
